All Star Game MVP: The Braves’ Tech Team

You’re probably thinking it would be a player in the game, but not this All-Star game…

It’s hard not to be romantic about baseball, but when the MLB and the Atlanta Braves put on an absolute performance for the ages between innings of the All-Star game, it’s hard not to shed a tear.

For those who missed the All-Star game, the Atlanta Braves unveiled a technology in baseball that I never seen before. It’s been done on NHL rinks, probably NBA courts, and possibly NFL stadiums.

I’d love to show you the video of the tribute, but the MLB still has a hard-on for keeping their content only available to them. But it was a videographic electronic display where the baseball diamond between innings became a projector screen for where they highlighted the Hank Aaron 715 home run. I was in complete awe the whole time as I’m sure others were watching the game were too.

The reason they earn MVP status for instituting this technological advancement in the game of baseball in the showcase of their top talent in the All-Star game, was they panned up to Hank Aaron’s wife, Billye Aaron, in a suite at Truist Park, and she was visibly emotional, crying after the baseball world honoured her late husband.

You may be 14 years old reading this and have no idea who Hank Aaron is, but for those of you my age or older that can appreciate the legacy and impact Hank Aaron had on the game of baseball, and we’re also able to appreciate the visible display the Atlanta Braves put on, you know why they deserve the MVP in this game tonight.
